Representatives of the Russian tourism industry were introduced to the peculiarities of the reception of Arabian tourists

Profi.Travel media holding together with Rostourism held a training course for Russian industry participants and representatives of regional authorities on the promotion of Russian tourism products, as well as the peculiarities of receiving and serving tourists from Arabian countries.
The event was timed to coincide with the preparations for the RED Arabian online exhibition, which will be held from June 20 to 29 and will provide an opportunity for participants in the Russian tourism business to present their opportunities to partners from Arabian countries.

The training was held for two days, and more than 500 participants of the tourist industry and representatives of authorities from regions interested in working with foreign markets registered for it.

60% of them are heads of tour operator companies, 23% are managers and employees from the hotel industry, and 15% are representatives of tourism departments in different regions. 19% of the on-air participants work in Moscow, 11,5% work in St. Petersburg, and 9% work in the Krasnodar region. In addition, tour industry professionals from Tatarstan, Murmansk region, Altai, Irkutsk, the Urals and the North Caucasus joined the broadcast.
All recordings performances are available here (first and second day).

Representatives of large hotels (Ritz-Carlton Moscow), resorts (Krasnaya Polyana), host companies (Intourist), airlines (Etihad Airways and Gulf Air), as well as tour operators, engaged in outbound tourism in Arabian markets (Seera Group) shared their experiences with tourists from Arabian countries.

Demyan Smilevets, Head of the International Cooperation Department of Rostourism, in his opening remarks noted that the Arab markets currently remain the most promising destinations for attracting foreign tourists to Russia.

The main positive factor is that the flight programs of Gulf carriers have in most cases been restored to pre-pandemic levels. In some cases there are no serious visa restrictions.

«Currently, UAE citizens do not need a visa to enter Russia, — noted Demyan Smilevets. — As for the other countries in the region, all promising markets — Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain — are included in the list of countries whose citizens will be able to enter Russia on e-visas when this program is relaunched».

However, participants of the Russian travel industry need to fill the gaps in terms of the peculiarities of work with the markets of the Arabian countries, especially the Persian Gulf, says the CEO of Profi.Travel Alexei Vengin.

«It is very important for Russia now to advance in promising markets, but it is no less important — to educate and raise the level of competence of those who receive Arab tourists, as well as to establish contacts with foreign partners, — says Alexey Vengin. — We see a lack of knowledge among tour operators, hoteliers and especially the authorities in the regions. And the training for the RED Arabian exhibition, which we held, demonstrated a very high interest of the audience. More than 500 viewers from almost all Russian regions registered for this broadcast».
