Indians now know how to sell tours to Baikal

…And professionals in the Irkutsk region know how to receive Indian guests. A unique project to promote Russian tourist products to the Indian tourism market has successfully completed on Profi.Travel.

RED Baikal is one of a series of Profi.Travel projects aimed to stimulate the development of inbound tourism in Russia. It consists of two parts. A series of India Friendly webinars is addressed to travel companies in the Irkutsk region, and introduces the features of receiving Indian tourists - from catering to the specifics of groups accompanying. The second part - Russia Expo Day Baikal - was developed specially for Indian travel agents.

The project was prepared jointly with the Agency for Tourism of Irkutsk Region and Russian Information Center in India. Specialists from Russian Export Center in India, Rossotrudnichestvo in India and TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India) also took part as event's experts. There were 6 hours of informational live broadcasts.

One of the most difficult tasks in such highly specialized projects is to attract a relevant audience. The experience, professional level of our team, technical capabilities of the company and the partners' support made all this possible.
Alexey Vengin, CEO of Profi.Travel media holding.
657 users were registered as project participants, 257 of them had real-time trainings. In total, more than 1 100 people have attended Russia Expo Day Baikal online fair.
We are happy to be partners of Red Baikal event here in TAFI – one of the largest travel associations in India, with over 1400 members all over the country. In 2019 Russia has received 90 thousand tourists from India. I think this number can grow multiple times. Of course, with the pandemic, the growth is slower, but now with the concept of India Friendly hotels it will be easier for many tourists to decide on a trip to Russia. I would also mention that if visa agreements are extended in an easier way, this will also help to increase the flow of tourists from India to Russia. This is beneficial to both countries.
Pradip Lulla, Acting and Vice president of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI).
The audience noted a high quality and uniqueness of the information presented during India Friendly webinars.
It was a very interesting experience. We are all confident that sooner or later the borders will be open. Now is the very moment when you can reformat the approaches and elaborate new meanings for the development of inbound tourism.
— Ekaterina Slivina, head of the Agency for Tourism of Irkutsk Region.
47 organizations get trained, including 15 hotels. All program participants received certificates of India Frendly conformity.

"With our projects we're trying to contribute into the recovery of inbound tourist flow to Russia after the end of the pandemic, - sums up Alexey Vengin. - RED Baikal was one of the steps towards this".
